On behalf of the Little Light House, a Christian Developmental Center for preschool children with special needs, we are coming to you with wonderful news regarding our Head to Toe, Heart and Soul Bible-Based Curriculum. After fervent thought and prayer, we have formally decided to make it a free resource.
From our conception, we searched for a Bible-Based curriculum which would address the developmental needs of children with special needs. Finding none available, we finally made the difficult decision and commitment to write our own. Over two decades later, the Head to Toe, Heart and Soul Curriculum was completed.
This Bible-Based curriculum is designed for all children (typical children) under the age of six, but the uniqueness of it is that it also offers adaptations and guidance for including children with special needs. The curriculum offers 12 Bible stories written in rhyme and poetic form, 12 Activity Guides to go along with the stories, a music CD of original songs that reinforce the Bible stories, a Curriculum Resource Guide which includes a developmental scope and sequence, an Adaptation Guide chock full of ideas in how to help the child with special needs and a years’ worth of Sunday School lessons.
The Little Light House prayed that this Bible-Based curriculum would be published and distributed across the nation and worldwide, crossing all denominational barriers. For over a year, we have provided community members the option of purchasing these resources on our online educational resource, The Little Anchor. Having poured so much into this project for as many years as we have, we want to now move forward in a direction that best aligns with our ministry’s overall mission and vision.
A unanimous verdict, the Little Light House staff and Board of Directors believe this is a powerful milestone in our organization’s history, as it has the potential to broaden our impact and shine our light brighter for generations to come. Please join us in spreading the delightful news.
“In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” –Acts 20:35
